Cast Iron Skillet Vintage #8 Heat Ring Stamped USA 10-3/8" Cracked Poor

Cast Iron Skillet  No. 8, 10-3/8” inch diameter. CRACK in pan base. Very Poor condition, heavy pitting, rust, deterioration, carbon. This skillet is old. Handle on this skillet is 4-1/2” loop handle, pan has two pour spouts, one on each side, skillet is 2” tall. Crack is about 4” long in the bottom center of the skillet. Does not appear to be significantly effecting usage. Heavy pitting and rust, very old. Seasoned with oil, displays rust and light carbon buildup. Seasoned with oil.  Since I see the marking on the bottom side, ‘USA’, this skillet is probably old and not made in China. Beautiful extra very light pitted rust buildup on skillet.

Cattle Drivers used cast iron pans on their chuck wagons and often each skillet was numbered so that the cook could quickly grab one of the pans of the correct size and number and set it on the campfire.
